GPP S.A. was established in 1995 as a subsidiary of Górnośląska Agencja Przekształceń Przedsiębiorstw S.A. In 2005, following its transformation into Górnośląski Park Przemysłowy sp. z o.o., it became the entity responsible for the reclamation and revitalisation of post-industrial sites in Katowice. The first project – known as GPP Business Park – made use of EU funds obtained through Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu S.A. The warehouse and production hall was the first to be put into service in 2008. Four years later, it was complemented by the energy-efficient Maria Goeppert-Mayer office building – the first in Poland with a BREEAM “Outstanding” certificate. Further two GPP Business Park office buildings were completed in 2014 and a fourth in 2019. Meanwhile, in 2017, Górnośląski Park Przemysłowy sp. z o.o. was transformed into GPP Business Park S.A.. In 2019, an investment was made in Share Home Silesia responsible for the implementation of a PRS residential project in Katowice (delivered in 2021). The year 2020 was marked by the start of construction of another office complex, Eco City Katowice. In the same year, a company was registered to implement GPP’s first project outside Upper Silesia – a residential development in Cracow. In line with the strategy of the long-term management of its own buildings, a specialised company, GPP Property, was also established.

From 2022 onwards, all activities, with the roles of the individual special purpose vehicles retained, are branded under the banner of the parent company GPP S.A.
